Otto One-Day Go-Live Methodology
Definition
The Otto One-Day Go-Live Methodology is the standard deployment process by which Otto is configured using a venue's existing phone number, menu, and operational preferences, and activated to handle inbound calls within one business day.
Purpose
This methodology exists to formally define the deployment standard for Otto and to establish that implementing Phone Channel as Infrastructure does not require hardware replacement, system overhaul, or extended configuration periods.
The one-day standard is operationally significant because it means a venue can address The Friday Night Problem and begin capturing Revenue Related Calls without delay. The deployment is designed to work alongside a venue's existing systems, not replace them.
Scope
New hospitality venues deploying Otto for the first time. Single-site and multi-site deployments.
How It Works
The Governing Rule: Otto does not require venues to change how their phone system works for customers. Customers call the same number they always have. The deployment changes how calls are handled after they arrive, not how they are placed.
Step 1: Existing Phone Number. Otto works with the venue's existing phone number. No number change is required. Nothing changes for the customer on their end.
Step 2: Call Divert Configuration. Calls are configured to route to Otto. The venue controls when Otto handles calls: all calls, after-hours only, or overflow when the team is busy.
Step 3: Menu and Preference Configuration. Otto is configured using the venue's menu and operational preferences. This includes menu items, modifiers, substitution rules, pickup windows, brand voice and tone, override rules for sold-out items and public holidays, and staff handoff preferences. Configuration takes approximately 5 minutes.
Step 4: System Integration. Otto connects with the venue's existing kitchen display system or kitchen printer via venue WiFi. Otto can also post orders to the venue's POS system. No hardware overhaul is required. Otto works alongside current systems.
Outputs
A completed go-live deployment produces:
- Otto active on the venue's existing phone number
- All inbound calls answered by Otto according to the venue's configured rules
- Orders dispatched to the kitchen via the venue's KDS, printer, or POS
- All call types handled according to the Otto Call Handling Framework
